Display options
Choose how your lists are sorted and what they show
Throughout Valise, you can customize views to your preferences, changing what properties are shown, how items are sorted and whether you see a table-like list view or a more visual grid view.
Display options you choose are saved in your browser and only affect what you see. You can reset to the defaults at any time.
Sorting
On the Artworks page, you can sort by:
- ID: Sorts by your assigned artwork ID. We sort numerically, so VD-0025 is before VD-0026. If you have multiple prefixes, we sort alphabetically, so AA-0025 is before BB-0025.
- Title: Sorts alphabetically by title. Within the same title, artworks are grouped by most recent year.
- Year: Sorts by the year of the work. Within the same year, works are grouped by artist name and then title, so an artist’s works always stay together.
- Artist name: Sorts alphabetically by artist. Within each artist, works are ordered by most recent year and then title.
- Added: Sorts by when the artwork was added to Valise, most recent first by default. Useful for reviewing recently catalogued works.
- Updated: Sorts by when the artwork was last edited, most recent first by default. Useful for seeing what you’ve been working on lately.
All sort options can be toggled between ascending and descending order using the arrow button next to the sort selector.
Other lists have their own sort options:

Properties
On the Artworks page, and on a collection’s page in grid view, Properties chooses which details show under each work: Artist, Year, Medium, Dimensions, Editions, Status, and Artwork ID.
A collection’s Display menu can also switch between Grid and List. This only changes your own view. To choose what people see on a shared link, use the collection’s sharing options.
On the Sales page, Properties chooses which columns show: Buyer, Seller, Retail total, Sale total, and Net to artist.
